Some people considered me a hermit.
It’s not that I was anti-social, I just genuinely didn’t feel the need to socialize.
I was a new artist at the time I moved out there. I was typically artistic as well as after years of sweat as well as tears, I gained my degree in fine arts. Painting is my specialty. As soon as I started selling my work, my uncle offered me the use of his old lake apartment that he rarely used anymore. I was glad. It was a nice sized house, old but with a lot of character. And tons of windows. At first, I didn’t understand why there was no air conditioning. Surely, my uncle wasn’t that cheap… Granted, there was no air duct, but there are ductless air conditioning as well as heaters in existence. I learned the first summer time why there was no air conditioning. The apartment didn’t genuinely need it. The apartment was up on a cliff above a giant body of water as well as full of windows, there was a constant breeze that kept the apartment cool. As for heat, the apartment had multiple giant fireplaces as well as wood stoves/heaters that kept the apartment warm. Although these needed tending, I didn’t mind. There was plenty of wood on the household to split down as well as feed the fireplaces as well as stoves as well as this self sufficiency genuinely encouraged me to be reclusive. I spent many, multiple hours in winter season in my workroom, with the little stove/heater keeping me warm as well as I spent multiple evenings sitting before the fireplace in the residing room with a superb book. I didn’t feel the need for anyone’s dealer.
