Whenever I think of modular offices, I think of the offices my dad went into whenever he went to buy a car. With six kids, he bought a lot of old cars, but wherever he bought them, the modular offices all looked the same, and we had to sit and be quiet. I thought modular offices were a thing of the past until I moved to the city. There was always some kind of construction being done, and the hub of the business was the modular office. Whoever was head of the construction, was in one modular office telling all the workers were they were working, and making sure it was running on time. The owner of the construction company has his own modular office which in many cases, he shares with the architect. I found this out by watching a television show. It’s interesting to watch the people working below when I am in my office twenty or thirty floors up. I looked down from my sixth floor apartment, and although people didn’t look as small, it was still a humbling experience. I couldn’t imagine being inside one of those smallish modular offices for ten or twelve hours a day. I get claustrophobic in my two room apartment, but all the construction workers look happy. I probably would be too, if I got to work in the fresh air all day, and not be cooped up in an office. As much as I thought modular offices were just a thing of the past, I found out how wrong I was when I moved to the city.
