My ductwork needed to be replaced.

I wasn’t looking forward to having it done, but I needed to have the ductwork replaced. I remember how much it had cost, and how much work it was when the ductwork was installed. That was thirty years ago, and I knew the price would have risen. I also knew they would need to remove the old ductwork before they could install the new. The HVAC company that had installed our old ductwork, left a terrible mess in the basement and through the house. Everywhere they worked, there was dirt, dust, and messes. I felt like our house had been invaded by twenty teenage boys. It took a week to clean up the mess, and two years to pay for the ductwork. My husband assured me that times had changed and although it was going to be more expensive, the HVAC techs took more caution when making messes. We had no choice on purchasing new ductwork, but we now had choices on which material we wanted to use. The HVAC technician that came to our house, said they still have the old metal ductwork. If we were interested in getting rid of the metal in the house, and having safer and cheaper ductwork, we may want to get flex pipe ductwork. He showed us the ductwork, and asked if we were interested. He showed my husband how it would look. My husband said he thought flexpipe would be better. That’s when I asked about the mess. He told me my house would be just as clean, if not cleaner, than when they walked in.
