We had a fairly mild winter season this year, but we had a few days when it got colder, then unfortunately, most of the days were in the early Spring.
My partner thinks the boiler should be turned off at the start of March.
March brought us snow and freezing rain. I definitely came home from work one afternoon, and my partner had the oven on. I thought he was also starting dinner, but it wasn’t dinner that caught my attention. He was sitting in front of the oven with the door open. He told me it was a convenient space heater. I told him it was an extravagant space heater, and turned it off. I walked over and turned up the control component until I heard the boiler running. He also walked over and turned it back off. He told me we were wasting oil, and oil was extravagant. I told him we were wasting gas when he was warming his feet with the stove; then the gas was extravagant. When he started complaining he was cold, I told him to turn up the control unit. The whole boiler was made to keep it hot in the house. There were complaints that it was March, and it was Spring. My pal and I shouldn’t need the boiler. I reminded him when he turned on the a/c in December, because it was humid in the house. He also needed to turn on the boiler, because it was supposed to stay freezing for the next two weeks. My pal and I were still using the boiler off and on up until June. It also has just gotten hot enough to consider the a/c, but that is only because it is humid.
