I live in a part of the country that has a very extreme winter season.
It has been like this my entire life and to be honest I really hate the cold weather, but I just can’t see myself moving out of the town I grew up in.
I want to raise a family close to my family so I just planning on staying here forever. Normally the winter weather starts to get bad around October and doesn’t let up until April or May. When I say we have extreme winter weather, I am not joking around. Last year we got around twenty inches of snow in the worst snowstorm my town has ever seen. I was not able to leave my house for about two weeks because the snow had gotten so high. Luckily I was able to have my furnace inspected by the local HVAC company before this terrible snow storm hit. My family gathered at my house because I had the most reliable heating and cooling system out of the group. It was close quarters having my entire family in my small house for over two weeks but it was really great bonding time for us all and we were able to stay extremely warm. My furnace was in great shape and was running like a champ the entire time we were snowed in. I will never go without regular furnace maintenance for this reason. I had many friends who said their heating systems stopped working in the middle of the storm. I don’t think we would have survived in my house if that had happened to us!
