Their heating and cooling unit continues to beat the odds

Jake’s parents have lived in their property for over 25 years now.

And with any home, over time, things will depreciate and break down.

That’s especially true for the HVAC unit, which is one of the components that my associate and I use almost, if not every day. It helps to keep us comfortable while you spend time inside our homes. Well, for the 25 years they have been residing in their home, they have never replaced their HVAC component and Jake was surprised to know that the component has not yet completely broken down. Based on his know-how, most HVAC units have an average lifespan of between 10 to 20 years, depending on the type of unit. If you own a heat pump, the life expectancy should be around 10 to 15 years and boilers will last up to 20 years. However, with good repair, an HVAC component can last longer than expected. And that’s why his parents HVAC system has never broken down. Not only have they inspected the component over the years, but they have also inspected it themselves. In addition, they have typically changed their air filter within 60 to 90 nights, and they have gotten their HVAC duct cleaned and have installed a programmable temperature control. All the tune up and smart decisions have led to them keeping their HVAC component in the best condition possible. Jake’s HVAC component is only 4 years old, but he is going to take a page out of his parents’ book so that his component can also outlast its lifespan. It’s the least he can do to protect the most used component in his home.
