My air conditioner stopped working on a hot summer day, so I decided to call an HVAC repairman to come take a look at it.
The technician arrived promptly and began to inspect my air conditioner unit.
After a few moments, he declared my device beyond repair and insisted it needed to be replaced. I was taken aback by his abrupt assertion, and asked him to explain further. He furthered that he had a brand new, state-of-the-art HVAC system he could install for me at a discounted price. A brochure with pictures of the plan came out, and he told me how much I would save on my utility bills. I was skeptical, but the repairman was insistent. He kept trying to sell me the new system, trumpeting how much better my life would be with it. He even went as far as to say that my new device was cursed, and that it was causing an exhausting damage to my life. I began to be concerned with the HVAC repairman’s odd behavior, and asked him to leave. As he left, he handed me a business card, and old me to call him if I changed my mind. After he left, I couldn’t shake off the eerie feeling that I had just experienced. After calling another HVAC technician, they told me that it was an easy repair and that my device did not need to be replaced. I never called the odd salesman repairman back, and made sure to warn my friends and family about him as well.
