My one friend constantly suggests things for me to try or gives me ideas for things I should do. This morning, when a friend of mine suggested that I give a smart thermostat a try, I admitted that I was initially very dubious. I was initially dubious because I didn’t understand the benefit of having a smart thermostat. After all, I have a typical Dial thermostat that has worked perfectly for me so far. Why should I buy a smart thermostat? Why should I purchase a smart thermostat instead of just using the other perfectly good things I already have? What makes them so special? Stephanie is a high school friend of mine, and she really enjoys all kinds of heating and cooling equipment. I don’t need it, even though I know she means well. She has to do the work herself, and she constantly raves to me about how much she enjoys being able to manage everything from her phone. That is all very nice, but perhaps I’m just being old-fashioned, but I don’t see the point in controlling my phone when I can easily just go to my house and turn the dial to change the temperature.
