Being a child must be the most incredible thing on earth.
There’s nothing to worry about except for being cute and sticking by your parents side.
As long as you don’t get abducted or abandoned, you’re golden. They never have to consider the adult responsibilities of taking care of a house or paying monthly bills for an entire family. That’s why, my kids don’t give two craps about abusing our HVAC system. Every single day, they put the poor heating and cooling system through its paces. From the moment that I wake up, I can tell that they have been fiddling with the thermostat dial. Generally, it’s strangely warm inside of the house if they’ve been up before me. They’ve already cranked the Heat and forced a ton of expensive artificial air into our home environment. Then, they turn the thermostat back down when they hear me get up in the morning so I can’t yell at them. This means, the HVAC system has already been used inefficiently and intensively before 7 in the morning. Over a lifetime, this means that my HVAC system enters a lot of abuse. I constantly have to call out the professional HVAC dealership from down the road for emergency repair services and routine maintenance calls. I try to take care of everything on my own, but I don’t have the expertise necessary to fix my heating and cooling system every time the kids stress it out. I’m sure that they are unaware of these absurdly high energy costs, but maybe they will think twice about their HVAC usage when they try to go to college and we have no money for tuition.
