From that point on, it’s pretty difficult for me to relax or enjoy the day.
It’s a very rare event that I treat myself to anything nice. Rather than spending money on myself, I tend to take care of everyone and everything else first. At the end of the day, there’s generally nothing left for me. It’s not such a bad life, but my family seems to take pity on me at times. They try to shower me with massages and spa days when I’ve had a particularly busy couple of months. I really appreciate the gesture that they’re making, but to be honest, I hate going on these spa days. If you ask me, modern salons and spas need to have their HVAC settings adjusted. I’m not sure if I just have strange temperature control preferences compared to the rest of the population or what, but I am always freezing cold when I enter these luxurious spas. From the moment that I walk in the door, it feels like I’m in an Arctic blizzard. There is freezing cold air blowing from every direction, so you can’t even get away from the drafts when you need a break. By the time you check in and disrobe, it feels like winter. I’m absolutely covered in Goosebumps and shivering in my thin robe. From that point on, it’s pretty difficult for me to relax or enjoy the day. Nothing about Ice Cold Air Conditioning puts me into a good mood. I don’t like having cold hands rubbing my back, or freezing cold masks applied to my face. These spa days probably do nothing except to stress me out more than ever. I have a darn hard time relaxing when my whole body is tensed up against cold air.
